KИMEK (KIMEK) is contraction of the words KИшиневский МЕханический Карандаш (KIshinevskiy MEhanicheskiy Karandash – Kishinev's Mechanical Pencil).

The box is plastic and has a very thin printed paper label adhered to the top in such a way that the printing appears to be directly on the plastic. I've never seen this technique used elsewhere. It's nice.

I’m not sure what all the text on the box below reads, but I does not have “Kimek” anywhere. Kimek is a contraction of a longer name, and perhaps that is the brand on the box.

These various Kimek 3 mm leadholders all have five-jaw collets, which is unique among my leadholders. Most leadholders have three or four jaws. Here is a quick tour of clutch jaws: Two Jaws, Three Jaws, Four Jaws, Five Jaws (ahem), Six Jaws, and Eight Jaws.
