This member of rotring’s 300 series has its own gallery entry because it differs in mechanics from the thin lead versions above. This model is to the thin lead rotring 300 (above) as this Koh-I-Noor model is to the thin lead Koh-I-Noor 5630 series. (You'll just have to follow those links to figure out what the hell that was all about.) Until very recently, the rotring 300 series was as close as you could come to having a full set of drafting pencils from 0.3 mm to 2.0 mm that were a matched set. Staedtler has actually fulfiled the promise of a true matches set with their 925 25 series.

The 400 model number was used for this plastic version of the 500 series for a time. Then at some point, 400 was used for a Tikky “double push” model also known as the rotring esprit.
