This uncommon pointer is remarkable for how poorly it works. Despite its capable appearance, it is essentially an elaborate holder for a single tiny steel blade like those in the little one inch hand held pointers. It takes many turns to effectively point a lead and this is when in NEW condition. Not even the spindle or corresponding bushing are metal. How long would this pointer last under regular use? About a week I'd wager.
